We received a benevolance gift from our church and were able to send in our final payment earlier this week! I am so excited. Now we have nothing left to do but be patient!
Once our agency receives our check they'll send our dossier to Ethiopia. Once Ethiopia reviews and approves our dossier they'll assign us a court date. We'll be given travel dates from our agency and begin to prepare for our first trip to Ethiopia. According to my rough estimates I think we'll travel sometime in late February. If everything continues on this timeline we'll bring Mirtnesh home in late April! Easter is the last Sunday in April this year so my hope that she'll be here by then could still happen.
During our first trip to Ethiopia we'll meet our daughter but she won't know that we are her adoptive parents until after we leave. Then they'll give her a photo album we are making and tell her. I can't even begin to imagine her reaction to such news. I'm nervous! I don't remember worrying about if Gracie would like us! (I guess that stage may be coming though.)
The estimated time between the two trips is 6-8 weeks, during which time I'll try to keep very busy! We're saving all the room remodeling for that period of time so that should help.
I don't think I'll have anymore news until we receive our travel date. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.
