As far as we can tell our application was not rejected after our late payment! Praise God!
Our last word from Homeland Security was an appointment notice for getting our fingerprinting down in St. Louis. It was so nice to open the envelope and see what appeared to be our next step forward and not a rejection letter! However, for those interested, it was also evidence of all the complications of adopting. We had our fingerprinting done less than a year ago for our homestudy. Now we will make a trip to St. Louis be fingerprinted again. We've paid nearly $300.00 just in fingerprinting cost.
I don't tell you that to complain...God has provided every step of the way and I love any excuse to visit St. Louis and a real mall...but many people are always interested in the overall workings of adopting and all the financial cost. For those worried about the environment- you could lobby for less paperwork to accompany adoptions! We'd be thankful!
So for today we are breathing a sigh of relief and thanking God for caring about the little things.
